Raamie Barker's Visit

Raamie Barker, the senior advisor to the governor of West Virginia visited our class yesterday. I was absent, but I was here for the phone call. From what I could tell, Raamie was a very inspirational man. I loved hearing what he had to say, and I did agree with everything he said. I'm glad he took the time to come to our class and give us his opinion, even though I missed it.
Thank you, Raamie. :D

Update!

Update your Blog: Share a link, video or picture of an animation you like that relates to your game topic. What makes this animation stand out to you?

I chose this picture, because it shows Sarah Palin being tough. She's the main character in our game, and it's showing her with a gun. So she's taking care of things. (:

Adding Buttons

For the past few days, we've been reading about adding buttons to our layers, and watching videos about it. So I'm pretty excited to start on it.

Creating Scenes

Question: Creating scenes in a sequence helps game designers tell the "story" of their game through a narrative. How are you using visual storytelling through your sequence of scenes to help players learn about your topic? What are examples of games you played in the Playing to Learn topic that use storytelling to teach a concept well? How have other narrative games influenced your game?

Answer: We are putting facts in our game, to help people learn, and keep up with what they're doing.
A game that uses story telling as an example to teach a concept is, "What Would You Do?".
Other games have influenced our game, by motivating us to teach a concept through our game.

Information on our game

Since we started working with our game, I have learned that the topic is discussed more than what I thought. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal to so many people, but obviously it is, because there are a lot of statistics that have to do with illegal immigration.Yahoo! news is pretty helpful with the topic, too, because it's pretty current.

Blog Post

Flash can keep you entertained if you know a little bit about how it works. It isn't that hard to figure out. We took a survey today, too. :p
